The popular trend for the white coffee table is contemporary and minimalist. This has been considered a breakthrough in design for the longest time but there are times when people want to stick to the classic and rustic white coffee table.
If you long for the traditional design, you can go for the white table with touches of country. Most traditionally-designed white tables have intricately-designed bases for flare. Or, they are carved with several curves and lines.
Going traditional means choosing a wooden white coffee table so you have to make sure that your home conditions are amenable to wood. That means your home should be well-equipped against humidity and moisture. Traditional designs of coffee tables also offer some storage space. To amplify the rustic appeal, you may want to add wicker baskets instead of the traditional drawers.
On the other hand, there’s really nothing wrong in falling in love with the white coffee table. After all, contemporary is clean and everyone loves clean designs. The most practical yet catchy design for the coffee table is the block design without the legs.
It is grounded to the floor, much like large block of wood that looks beautifully displaced in the middle of your place. You should also designate storage spaces for this one, since the literal block type of coffee table has a lot of space to offer.
Install drawers for magazines and other effects. If you pair the table with a sofa set that turns into a double bed, you can construct drawers large enough to store blankets for your guests.
Having a white coffee table is pleasing to the eyes but maintenance is another issue. White easily attracts a lot of dirt and the slightest speck of it can break the whole serenity of the living space.
If you have young children at home, you may want to forgo the white coffee table. But if you really insist, you can cover the top with glass – with rubber protection on the corner to child-proof the table, of course – so they will avoid vandalizing on the table top.
The white coffee table, or any coffee table for that matter, is not a dining table. People should be discouraged from eating on this table. If food and drinks really have to be put on top, use a coaster or a place mat to protect the table from any spill. Also, be sure to clean and wipe the white coffee table at least twice a week if you want to keep it pristine.
